Historical note. Dates before the 1582 reform are shown on the Julian calendar. The astronomical positions are computed but approximate this far back β€” the lunar theory drifts by roughly a day across two millennia. The date of Easter shown is a retrojection: before the Council of Nicaea (325) there was no single agreed Easter (the Paschal Controversy).

The moon behind Easter

Easter is the first Sunday after the first full moon on or after the spring equinox β€” but the Church reckons this with a tabular ("ecclesiastical") moon and a fixed equinox of March 21, not the astronomical sky. The two usually agree to the day, but not always.
